I am not going to inflict you with the history of my life, but rather let my writings and photos speak for me. But here are a few sketchy details.
I am a native Californian, single, and live in Tucson, AZ. I left the craziness of California in 1992 to recapture a better life in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. I only moved to Tucson late in 2008.
I’ve led an interesting and varied life, from working as a grocery clerk to political consulting with some of the most famous politicians of our time. I’ve also traveled to many interesting places around our world.
My serious writing began in grade school. And with some pauses here and there, it continues to this day. (For more info, please read the “Writing” section)
As an author, I’ve written hundreds of political direct mail pieces, radio and TV commercials and several published articles, not to mention newsletters and blogs.
I’ve been involved in computers since 1982, having run my own computer consultancy business as well as working for larger companies in the field.
I pioneered the use of computers in political campaigns in California and helped bring fiber optic technology to people's homes and businesses in Grant County, WA.
I took up photography in college as part of my journalism major. After taking every class offered, I wound up as a student teacher. I also taught as an instructor at the college level. I spent many happy hours in the darkroom.
Now, it is all digital. Computers really opened the doors of imagination and creativity for making beautiful photos and digital paintings. But, no matter what the technology, it is always the image that counts...and I have a natural eye for composition.
I began digital painting to expand my creativity even further. All works begin with a photographed image. Once in the computer, they are analyzed for their highest and best use. They remain as photographs, or become digital sketches or digital paintings. Much of the work is done by hand with a "digital paintbrush." My work has been sold to customers around the world, so I have to think I have been somewhat successful.
So those are some of the “down and dirty” details. This site is about my work, and my travels. So now it’s time for you to look and read.
